Organising an overloaded wardrobe can take time, so I would recommend giving yourself a weekend to do it, it's better done in stages.
Over the next three days I'll talk you through how I did my recent sort out.
Step 1: Remove all clothes and separate into different piles.
-You might have a pile for work wear, leisure wear, exercise wear, every one is different so sort into piles according to your needs.
Step 2: Sort through every item deciding if you want to keep, donate or recycle, be ruthless
-I then do a second run removing any items that need mending or cleaning
Step 3: Give the inside of your wardrobe a good clean
-It's amazing how much dust settles on hanging rails and shelves
Steps 4-6 coming tomorrow.

After de-cluttering my wardrobe about 6 months ago, I no longer have enough clothes for this to be a problem. I got rid of loads of clothes that either didn't fit anymore or I knew I'd never wear. It's amazing how easy it is to get buy with just a few :)
I love a good closet cleanup - it feels so good when its done. Thanks for posting the photos. It is inspiring to see how tidy your closet looks!
I am waiting...want to read also part II !
how many posts will be needed ?
After all those many years in Portugal I am still a beginner when it comes to homework...
Ralf
I've been putting off that chore for months. Thanks for the reminder.
You're so right! I don't know why wardrobes get so dusty. I'm having trouble with letting go of my business suits, even though my office days are over. I need to switch out my clothes for the new season.
