Organising: Your wardrobe - Part 2

After you've completed steps one to three it's time to start putting your clothes back in the wardrobe. When doing this assess each item of clothing again. We all generally only ever wear 20% of our wardrobe contents, so it makes sense to only keep the clothes you love.

If you like me your work, you will probably have two sets of clothes, one for the office and one for casual wear. Now is the time to separate these items.

Step 4: Sort out all your hangers
-Experts would recommend wooden hangers, however there is no need to buy things just for the sake of it, use what you have already, discarding any broken ones. Place the hangers, empty, back in your wardrobe, in order of type.

Step 5: Neatly fold all your jumpers and t-shirts
-Now place them either back in your wardrobe or in a sealed vacuum bag, according to the season where you are. As it's getting colder here I've placed all my T's in a bag under my bed. When it gets warmer again I'll replace them with the jumpers.
You can see from the pictures, I have one pile for work wear and one for casual wear. I then have a small pile for scarfs.

Step 6: Hang all your clothes up
-Now put all your clothes back on the hangers, arranging them in order. I have mine in this order, coats, work suits, work shirts, casual trousers and then casual tops.

My work clothing, the bulk of my wardrobe, mainly consists of basic items built around four colours, black, grey, green and white. This makes choosing an outfit in the mornings very quick and easy as everything goes together. I add colour with a scarf or costume jewelry.

My casual clothing is built around two pairs of trousers, one pair of jeans (that I've had since 2004) 2 long sleeved, 2 short sleeved, black, M&S fair trade tee's and some jumpers.

Steps 7-9 coming tomorrow.
